Nursing 3323W/X – Promoting the Health of Communities

This course provides an introduction to community health promotion and the influence of socioenvironmental determinants of health on populations. The concepts of community as client, health promotion, determinants of health, and empowering nursing practice are considered. Students will examine a number of theoretical foundations for designing appropriate and effective health care and health promotion strategies.
