Spanish 3501F/G – Hispanic Visual Arts and Texts

An introduction to visual arts through artistic literature. Descriptions of important works of art, monuments and cities, biographies of artists, texts written by and/or for the artists will be considered. Examples from diaries, reflections, manuals, and criticism may be included. Cases will come from pre-Columbian civilizations up to contemporary expressions. Antirequisite(s): Prerequisite(s): Spanish 2200, 2200W/X or 2223, 2215F/G, 2216F/G or permission of the Department.
