Planetary Science 3380A/B – Introduction to Planetary Science

Introduction to basic principles of planetary science, emphasizing the geology of planetary surfaces. Topics covered include the history of planetary exploration, current missions, basics of planetary astronomy and geology, and the geological histories and surface processes of bodies in the solar system. Laboratory exercises involve image processing, interpretation, and mapping. Antirequisite(s): Prerequisite(s): The former Physics 1020 or 1024 or 1026; Earth Sciences 1022A/B and 1023A/B; any two of Earth Sciences 1081A/B, 1083F/G, 2281A/B.
