French 2806A/B – General Linguistics in French: from Sound to Meaning

This course introduces students to the foundations of linguistics, its goals and its methodological practices by focusing on the domains of linguistics where sound relates to meaning. Students will gain knowledge of the morphology, the syntax, the semantics and the lexicon of French, with an emphasis on Canadian French. Antirequisite(s): The former French 2800. Prerequisite(s): French 1900E or French 1910 or permission of the Department of French Studies, based on Placement Test.
