This course introduces students to the foundations of linguistics, its goals and its methodological practices by focusing on the domains of linguistics that relate to the sound patterns of French. Students will gain knowledge of the phonetics, the phonology and the sociolinguistics of French, with an emphasis on Canadian French. Antirequisite(s): The former French 2800.
