Classical Studies 3201F/G – Themes in Classical Mythology

This course examines ideas emerging from Greek and Roman myths, such as creative strife, archetypal features of heroes/heroines, and the curious connection between death and sexuality. It will also look at how myths were (and continue to be) integrated into society, conferring identity and being useful for purposes of propaganda. Antirequisite(s): The former Classical Studies 237E.
