Civil and Environmental Engineering 4461A/B – Natural Disasters: Mitigation, Modeling and Assessment

This course is an examination of natural disasters and their effects on the society and consists of three modules. The first module (4 weeks) focuses on basic probabilistic modeling and simulation techniques and their applications to natural disaster problems. The second module (4 weeks) will examine hurricane models and events. The third module (4 weeks) focuses on earthquake events. Antirequisite(s): Prerequisite(s): Completion of third year of the Civil Engineering program.
